Siti Nurbaya Bridge in West Sumatra
His name sounded familiar to his ears. Siti Nurbaya Bridge is an attraction full of stories and mysteries. Quoted from the story of West Sumatra writer Mara Rusli, this bridge connects the city of Padang with the summit of Mount Padang, which is believed to be the dining place of City Nurbaya.
Now, the appearance of City Nurbaya is known as the legend of the people of Padang. The love story with the idol of the heart, Shamsul Bari, is hampered by an arrangement marriage between City’s parents. And this bridge seems to be a symbol of their love.
Spoil your eyes with views of the wooden boats passing by during the day, beautiful sunsets in the afternoon, and a complete culinary tour at night.
Tangkuban Pera, West Java
Tangkuban Pera Mountain is one of the popular tourist attractions for tourists visiting Flower City. The cool atmosphere and refreshing panoramic views will not fill this active volcano with enthusiasts.
Hearing Tangkuban Pera, it certainly cannot be separated from the appearance of Sankrian. Once upon a time, the kingdom had a daughter of a king named Dayan Sunbi, who had a child named Sankrian.
Sangkuriang was expelled from the kingdom because of a problem with his mother. Years later, Sunkrian returned to a highly transformed kingdom and met a very beautiful girl who turned out to be Dayan Sunbi. The visually impaired Sankrian was desperate to propose to his mother.
Dayan Sunbi proposed two conditions. First, Dayan Sunbi asked a young man to block the Ci Tarum. Second, he asked Sankguriang to build a big boat to cross the river before the morning came.
Seeing that Sunkrian’s work was almost finished, Dayan Sunbi immediately ordered members of the royal family to spread a red cloth on the eastern side of the city, and Sunkrian thought the sun had risen.
Sangkuriang was angry and broke the dam he had built, causing a flood that struck the entire city. He then kicked the big boat he had made earlier and almost completed it so that it floated and fell on his face until it became a mountain called Tangkuban Pera.
Praosan Temple in Central Java
Located in the Latin Regency, Praosan Temple is directly adjacent to Prambanan. There are two large temples, 21 meters high, Prao San Loa and Prao San Kidul.
Two Praosan temples of the same size are often referred to as twin temples. However, a closer look reveals some reliefs and ornaments that are slightly different in shape and style.
Built in the 9th century, Praosan Temple is a blessing of the diligence of Lakai Pikatan. He holds the position of king of ancient Mataram from the Sanjaya dynasty between 840 and 856 AD.
Rakai Pikatan is said to have fallen in love with Plumdia Wardani, the daughter of Raja Samaratungga in Wansa Shailendra. Unfortunately, this romantic relationship was opposed by a family of two because of religious differences.
Lakai Pikatan comes from a Hindu family. Plumdia, on the other hand, came from Wansa Shailendra, who was actually a very devout Buddhist.
But these differences did not diminish their courage. Rakai Pikatan and Pramudyawardani decided to get married, even though they had to maintain their loyalty to their religions. To swear his eternal love, Lakai Pikatan built the Praosan Temple for Empress Plumdia Wardani.
